Established in Oct 2008, HKRIA is a not-for-profit copyright management organization to handle the copyrights of members who are record companies from Hong Kong and overseas regarding the broadcast, public performance and relevant usage of sound recordings (recorded music) and music videos. We license the use of sound recordings (recorded music) and music videos in broadcast, public performance and new media in Hong Kong, Macau and other territories.

The founding members include Sony Music, Universal Music and Warner Music. Besides, Because Music, Beggars Group, bma Records, Domino Recording, EAS Music, Equilibrium, Firstworks Music, Frenzi Music, Fu Music, Global Master Rights, Kontor Records, Lime Blue Music, Liquid State, Naga Guitar Studio, Neighbors Club, Orchard Enterprise NY, Playground Music, Rinaland International Productions, Roland Voss, Sinomusic International, Smilax Publishing, Soundgood Production, Soundproof Australia, The Back Office, Warp Records have joined HKRIA as members and more record labels are to join soon.

By collecting licence fees and passing them on to the people who provide the music in our lives, we are not only protecting the copyright owners, but also enabling them to continue to create great music for us all to enjoy.
